The Call of the Wild Practice Test

Buck's evolution in his perception of humans reflects the harsh realities he encounters throughout the story. As he experiences betrayal, cruelty, and manipulation at the hands of various human characters, Buck grows increasingly wary of them. His early interactions with humans, where he initially places some trust, are met with violence and exploitation, leading him to realize that not all humans have benevolent intentions. This wariness is critical to his survival as he learns to navigate the complexities of both the human and animal worlds. It highlights Buck's transformation from a domesticated pet to a wild creature who is cautious and discerning about those who seek to control him. This shift is a clear representation of his broader journey toward self-sufficiency and instinctual understanding in the wilderness.
